Can I carry on instruments?

Instruments within the carry-on size (a total height, width, and depth within 115 cm (within 55 cm × 40 cm × 25 cm) with a weight of 10 kg or less) and baggage which is deemed allowable to be stowed under the seat in front of you or safely in the overhead bins above your seat may be brought aboard. (Even if an instrument has a size with a total height, width, and depth within 115 cm, but has a shape which does not allow it to be stowed under a seat or in the overhead bins above your seat, it cannot be brought aboard.)
Instruments exceeding the carry-on size may be brought aboard after payment of the special passenger fare (JPY 11,300 (tax included) per seat for a single route) and the purchase of a seat. (Instruments with sizes or shapes making them unable to be safely secured to a seat may not be allowed within the cabin. Contact the Reservation and Information Center beforehand for details.)
Please understand that double basses cannot be brought aboard.
