Oysters are said to be at their best in winter. But you cannot say you have really had oysters in Hokkaido until you have tried the “Kakiemon Oysters” from Akkeshi town. “Kakiemon Oysters” have a thick shell and firm texture, and its mouthwatering flavor and sweetness only adds to its appeal. Oysters, clams, scallops, sea urchins and surf clams are trusted and established products only made in Akkeshi town as a part of the “Emon Series”.
Akkeshi oysters can be consumed raw anytime of the year. However, the oysters in winter are particularly delicious. Splash lemon and soy source on as many oysters as you want. Oysters are also placed on a charcoal grill, where you slurp the oyster with the juice as you put it in your mouth. Of course, there are other dishes such as hotpots, vinegared delicacies and deep-fired oysters.
“Kakiemon Oysters” were introduced using the single-seed method. They were branded in 2004 as pure Akkeshi born and raised oysters. Why don't you try the great taste of “Kakiemon Oysters”?
