There are many cases where cordless hair irons with built-in lithium-ion batteries
that cannot be removed or mobile batteries with built-in lithium-ion batteries are transported.
These products fall under the category of "dangerous goods," so please check the shipping conditions yourself.

Baggage Deserving Special Attention
The air transport of items which have a possibility of exploding, are easily burnable, cause injury to people, or may cause harm to other things is prohibited by law, and such items cannot be checked or carried aboard.
Items like blades, which can be used as a weapon are not allowed in the cabin.
Please note that violation may result in a fine of up to JPY 500,000. Check the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's website (Only available in Japanese) for details.
Items Not Allowed Aboard as Carry-on or Checked Baggage
The following items are not allowed within the cabin as carry-on or checked baggage by law.
Ex.)
- Explosives
- Fireworks
- Heatable boxed meals (with self-heating packs)
- Easily combustible or flammable objects (lighter gas oil and camping stoves)
- Corrosive agents
- Items at risk of endangering the aircraft, its passengers, or cargo
- Rapid freezing materials

Items Not Allowed as Carry-on Baggage (Restricted Within the Cabin)
The following items are not allowed within the cabin. Please check them.
Ex.)
- Items which can be used as a weapon for hijacking or terrorist activities (blades like knives or scissors)
- Tools
- Items with pointed tips
- Baseball bats, golf clubs, and similar items
- Items which can be mistaken or cause fear among other passengers, such as toy guns and handcuffs

Items Conditionally Allowed Aboard as Carry-on or Checked Baggage
Certain quantities or volumes of some items cannot be brought aboard airplanes as carry-on or checked baggage. Here are some examples of items that customers frequently ask about at airports.
Ex.)
Lighters
One small, portable lighter for smoking or one box of safety matches (small-sized) per person can be brought aboard on one's person. (Be careful not to leave it on the airplane.) Lighters with fuel tanks, cigar lighters, and torch lighters* (turbo lighters, jet lighters, blue flame lighters, etc.) cannot be brought aboard or put in checked baggage.

*1 If the lithium-ion battery can be removed from the device, then the device is allowed in carry-on or checked baggage. However, the lithium-ion battery removed from the device and spare batteries must be kept in your carry-on baggage. (They are not allowed in checked baggage.)
*2 These are devices filled with hydrocarbon gas, with a safety cover securely fastened to the heating element. Gas refill cartridges are not allowed in carry-on or checked baggage.
General electronic devices with built-in or attached lithium batteries or lithium-ion batteries
For lithium batteries, check the lithium content (g). For lithium-ion batteries, check the watt-hour rating (Wh). Handling also differs for built-in batteries and spare batteries.
Product examples: Digital cameras, PCs, electronic gaming devices, video cameras, mobile phones, spare batteries, smartphone chargers, etc.
※If the capacity is not stated by watt-hour rating (Wh) on your batteries, use the following formula.

*1 If you put it in checked baggage, the power to the device must be completely turned off. (Sleep mode is not allowed.) The device must be protected by being inside a rigid suitcase or by being wrapped in clothing or similar. (This is to prevent fires due to accidental activation or damage.)

Smart Baggage
Smart baggage is baggage with built-in battery-powered equipment to provide functionality such as the ability to charge other electronic devices. The handling of smart baggage that contains lithium batteries or lithium-ion batteries differs according to whether or not the battery is removable. (This does not apply to button cells.)

*1 There are restrictions on the size and weight of carry-on baggage, so confirm in advance that your baggage can be taken aboard as carry-on baggage.
*2 Take the removed battery aboard in your carry-on baggage.
Smart baggage is allowed as carry-on and checked baggage without the need to remove button cells and batteries that are only used for electronic tags and weighing functions.
Avalanche Rescue Backpacks
Each passenger may take one avalanche rescue backpack as carry-on or checked baggage as long as it is confirmed to meet the requirements below. Please bring the manual or another document that shows your backpack meets the requirements.
- Gunpowder content must be 200 mg or less.
- Any compressed gas that is used must not be flammable or toxic.
- The backpack must be packed in such a manner that it cannot be accidentally activated, and the airbags within the backpack must have pressure release valves.
Electronic Cigarettes
Electronic cigarettes that produce smoke without the use of a flame (e.g. iQOS) are allowed in carry-on baggage, but not in checked baggage.
Furthermore, the use of electronic cigarettes while on board is prohibited due to the fact that it could make other passengers feel uncomfortable or cause misunderstanding.
Items Not Allowed as Checked Baggage
Do not put expensive articles like cash, precious metals, precious stones, valuable stock certificates, or expensive antique works of art; or fragile items like clocks, cameras, personal computers, or glass products inside baggage which will be checked. Should damage to or loss of these items occur, AIRDO bears no responsibility.

If while in the airport you are carrying an item or items which cannot be brought aboard or checked as stated above, please throw it/them away in the disposal box.
In addition, if you are carrying an item or items prohibited from being brought aboard, place it in the baggage you plan to check, and check it at the counter, or throw it away in the disposal box located in the security inspection area.
